JOHNLIP LEE
ARTIST NOTE
The artist’s work is an idealized vision of nature, blending memory and imagination into vibrant, harmonious compositions. Drawing inspiration from childhood innocence and vivid recollections, the artist creates works that transcend realistic landscapes, instead emphasizing color and form to evoke emotional resonance and happiness. Using traditional techniques like mokgol, the pieces balance flatness with a unique depth, aiming to convey the infinite energy of nature. Through their art, the artist seeks to connect with the world, inspire sensitivity, and foster joy and tranquility. While grappling with humanity's strained relationship with nature, the artist envisions art as a boundless force capable of transforming reality and expanding into fantastical realms.
